  • Work Environment: This position is based on-site in Bedford, Indiana. Following the completion of your initial onboarding and training, you will have the flexibility to work remotely 1 to 2 days per week as part of our hybrid work model depending on performance and operational requirements.

Opportunity Overview:

As a Credit Solutions Recovery Specialist you will manage charged-off accounts, negotiate repayment solutions, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). You’ll work closely with senior leadership and outside counsel to support collections, litigation, and recovery efforts, while maintaining accurate records and delivering exceptional member service. This position also involves skip-tracing, handling bankruptcy accounts, and assisting with audits and examinations to ensure our processes meet regulatory standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct legal and regulatory research to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations; monitor updates and assist in audits and examinations.

  • Draft, review, and manage legal documents and contracts under the direction of senior management and outside counsel, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Support litigation and collections activities, including case management, communication with counsel, document preparation, and handling subpoenas, garnishments, and bankruptcy accounts.

  • Manage credit solutions processes, including policy development, account monitoring, skip-tracing, debtor communication, and negotiation of payment arrangements in adherence to FDCPA and company standards.

  • Maintain accurate records and departmental procedures, organize databases, provide reporting to leadership, and assist in training team members while ensuring confidentiality and exceptional member service.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education: An Associate's degree or High School Diploma with a Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a corporate record-keeping role, ideally in the financial services industry, is preferred.
  • Expertise: Familiarity with regulatory compliance and legal risk management is preferred. Strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to corporate recordkeeping is necessary.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, document management software, and collection tools; strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) for effective negotiation and relationship management; analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify issues and develop solutions; organizational skills to manage multiple high-priority projects with attention to detail; ability to strategically prioritize tasks and manage a portfolio of accounts; solid understanding of laws and regulations governing debt collection practices.
  • Judgment & Problem-Solving: The ability to gather and analyze data. Using sound judgement to solve daily potential problems and apply broader aspects of established practices to situations which go beyond clear, concise guidelines.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. May occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
